故事讲的是两个孤儿Matthew 和 Anna，马修和安娜，被送到叫作Myra的地方的一个

动和家务。一只红鸟，将两人引入一个神奇的世界Sunnymead，在那儿，一位好心的
女人像妈妈一样照顾他们，他们整日在阳光下快乐地玩耍，找到了希望、阳光和自
由。如果读过“米欧，米欧”和“狮心兄弟”的人，一定会对林格伦这个故事里
有关生命、死亡和希望的隐喻有更多的理解。小安娜的话：“我的生命里没有快
乐，我不想活到春天来临的时候了。”可能会令现代的父母感到不安。据书评讲，

今晨电视新闻里出现了《如果你给老鼠吃饼干》 的作者Laura Numeroff。她在为新
书if you give a pig a party做宣传。
这个故事里除了以前的角色pig, mouse, moose等，还出现了cat 和dog。它们将会
是另外两本的主人公，If you give a cat a cake和 if you give a dog a
doughnut。
这位作家很高兴的样子，因为九月底要去参加第一夫人劳拉布什的Black Tie and
Boots的聚会。呵呵，原本畅销的系列，这下更有保证了。大概她自己也写烦了吧，
说会有第九本出版，内容还是秘密。这将是最后一本喽。学哈利波特吧，吊人胃口
