好大的开本，一本神奇的客厅图画书，一帧帧巨大画面不断展开，像是在看一部有趣的动画片，视觉的冲击十分强烈，色彩也变得更加饱满，神态，背景，小道具都变得让你不可忽视，生动有趣。简单的母子对白，恰到好处地与画面相呼映，把一个调皮不肯睡觉，又想像力非凡的小孩子和一个亲切，耐心又不失幽默的妈妈形象勾勒得栩栩如生、惟妙惟肖。

更有意思的是，书中，小鼠的平时钟爱的玩具成为他睡前旅行的发源地，成了他想像的一双翅膀，所以一切都的奇遇和探险，都在他的小脑袋瓜里想象了不知多少遍了。还有每一个角色的小帽子也很有趣，不同的角色，不同的地点，不同的体验，都会配上一顶不同的帽子，等读完了故事，还可以和孩子们一起翻到扉页，把在空中飞舞的帽子一个一个地对对位，哪一顶是去月球带的，哪一个是去山洞探险带的，哪一个是潜水用的，还有穿越沙漠时戴的是哪一顶呢，小小的互动，让整个阅读过程变得更具娱乐性，小小的游戏，让这本小书变得更可爱生动。
