Once there was a boy named Nicki. He wanted mittens as white as snow.从前,有一个名字叫"尼基"的小男孩.他非常渴望拥有一双像雪一样白的手套.

"If you drop a white nitten in the snow,it will be hard to find ,his grandmather told him.如果你在雪地里丢了一只手套,你就很难找到它了,他的外婆忠告尼基说.

But Nicki wanted snow-white mittens so much that Baba made them for him.When she finished knitting ,Nicki put on the mittens and wen out to play.但是尼基如此渴望拥有这样一双雪白的手套,于是外婆答应马上织一双给他.外婆一织好,尼基就带上雪白的手套跑出去玩了.It wasn't long before one mitten fell off. 不一会儿,一只手套就被尼基落在雪地上了.

A little mole found it and crawled inside.It was just the right size,So he decided to stay.一只小鼹鼠发现了这只小手套,小心翼翼地爬了进去,并决心呆在里面了.

A rabbit came hopping by. He wiggled in next to the mole.

A hedgehog wanted to get warm.The mole and the rabbit made room for him.一只小刺猬也想钻进来取暖.于是小鼹鼠和小兔子就马上挪出一点空间出来给它.

A badger locked out of his house and saw the mitten.He climbed right in.
一只獾在自己的窝里向外看,也发现了这只手套. 它也凑热闹似的从右侧爬了进来.

Then a big bear sniffed at the mitten. The animals were packed in tight, but the bear didn't care.
然后,一只大熊大声吸着气,发觉了这只手套.小动物们都已经把手套挤得满满的了,但熊却一点也不介意.He crawled in anyway. The mitten was getting bigger and bigger and bigger.它不管怎么样也要爬进来,于是手套变得越来越大,越来越大.

The tiny mouse squeezed in and perched herself on the big bear's nose.
一只小老鼠挤了进来,它自作主张地蹲在大狗熊的鼻子上了.

The mouse's whiskers tickled the bear's nose.''Aaaaaa-aaaa-ca-chew!''the bear sneezed.All the animals flew out of the mitten.而小老鼠的几根胡须搔痒着大狗熊的鼻子,"啊啊-----啊---嚏--!"大狗熊忍不住打了个大喷嚏.
所有的动物们都飞出了手套.

Nicki saw his mitten sail up into the air.尼基看到他的小手套像扬起的小白帆一样乘着空气迎面飞行过来.

From the window ,Baba watched Nicki catch his mitten."See Baba! "he called to her. "I have both my nittens. "And Baba smiled.透过窗子,外婆看见尼基抓住了他的那只手套."看呀,姥姥!他大声地向她呼喊着."我的两只手套都在!"
他的外婆会心地笑了.
