我的万圣节绘本翻译,请高手多多指点

Jack.O’.Lanterns  start as pumpkins , which  are grown from seeds.
They  create vines that lie on the ground  and bear pumpkins  which  grow big  and turn  from green  to  orange.

杰克灯是从种子长成的南瓜而来的。南瓜长出沿着地面生长的南瓜藤，南瓜藤负担着整个南瓜的重量，南瓜越长越大，由绿色变成橙色

（在这里想和大家讨论一下：THEY 指代的是什么？我理解是南瓜，因为前一个定语从句which  are grown from seeds.修饰的词是 pumpkins ,大家觉得对吗？对这段的翻译还有没有什么建议？）

They  are ready to pick just  before  Halloween.

他们（南瓜们）准备好了在万圣节前一天（前夕）被采摘下来

Farmers gather them for the market.

And  sometimes people go into  the field  to choose  their own  pumpkins.

农夫们去市场上挑选南瓜。有时候人们到田地里去挑选他们自己的南瓜

Most of us buy them in stores, where they choose pumpkins which  they think  will look good.

我们中的大多数人都是去商店里挑选一些自己看上去很不错的南瓜

Carving  the faces brings them to life and changes them from  pumpkins into Jack-O'-Lanterns.

为南瓜雕刻上脸谱给南瓜带来了生命力并且把他们从南瓜变成了杰克灯

They are lighted from the inside ,which will make them the best part of  Halloween.

南瓜灯被从里面点亮，成为了万圣节最棒的一个组成部分

Almost every Jack-O'-Lantern smiles  because they are so  glad to be alive.

几乎每个杰克灯都露出一张笑脸，因为他们很高兴被赋予了鲜活的生命

Their happy smiles are infectious ,and everyone around them is soon smiling.

他们欢乐的笑脸是那样有感染力，很快他们周围的每一个人也都露出了笑容

They do enjoy scaring people,

and animals of all kinds.

Jack-O'-Lanterns love to  be  invited to parties ,

They seldom get the chance to move about ,but the few who get to travel enjoy it thoroughly.

Late on Halloween night, when all the people have gone to bed they have parties of their own.

在万圣节的午夜，当人们都熟睡了以后，他们就开始了自己的晚会。

They frolic until dawn,  for this has been the best night of their lives ,and they want to enjoy its every moment.

他们嬉戏玩耍直到凌晨，因为这是他们一生中最棒的一个夜晚，他们想要享受这个夜晚的每一刻

应该是收了南瓜去集市，而不是去集市挑南瓜。

翻译：
1，Jack-O-Lantern，翻成杰克灯，谁也听不懂啊，它就是“南瓜灯”，直接说明白就好了。或者用“杰克南瓜灯”这样的词也可以。

2，THEY的指代是SEEDS，这段话的意思是用简洁的话，把南瓜的生长给孩子说一下。。。
这句翻译，你自己读了吗？觉得顺吗？其它的翻译也是，自己都大声读一读。

要做南瓜灯，先要有南瓜。南瓜是由种子长成的。

（我的翻译，你参考。把意思说清楚的同时，要考虑这是绘本，是读给孩子听的。）

万圣节前，不是前一天。

农夫们去市场上挑选南瓜。有时候人们到田地里去挑选他们自己的南瓜
——第一句翻错了。是农夫摘了南瓜送到市场，不是去市场挑选。

5，Most of us buy them in stores, where they choose pumpkins which  they think  will look good.
我们中的大多数人都是去商店里挑选一些自己看上去很不错的南瓜。
——读一读吧，话不通呢。

6，Carving  the faces brings them to life and changes them from  pumpkins into Jack-O'-Lanterns.
为南瓜雕刻上脸谱给南瓜带来了生命力并且把他们从南瓜变成了杰克灯
——不是刻上脸谱，是刻出脸。

后面的翻译，没什么大错，就是读着有不顺的，多修改吧。而且绘本翻译，也要结合画面，所以翻完不但要大声读出来，也要一页一页对着看看。

别介意我们的挑刺哈，赫赫，翻译就是要多练习、多修改的。：）

表情占位：s:138这么贴要看完还真是很累，图没看到，文字看过了，发现译文大部分都是长句子，原文虽然用了从句一类的结构，但是翻译成中文，而且是给小朋友看的，我建议把长句都处理成简单的短句，像囡囡妈上面译的那样，这样才好理解。

另，除了囡囡妈提的意见之外，还有一些地方要好好斟酌一下：

1. They  areready to pick just  before  Halloween.他们（南瓜们）准备好了在万圣节前一天（前夕）被采摘下来

2. They are lighted from the inside ,which will make them the best part of  Halloween.
南瓜灯被从里面点亮，成为了万圣节最棒的一个组成部分

3.and help witchesin any way they can.
并且会采用任何可能的方式去帮助女巫

这里的THEY应该是指seeds.  南瓜生长的过程应该是种子发芽，抽枝，长藤。 藤上结果，就是南瓜了。

还有就是绘本和文字书不一样，绘本里的图画和文字是相辅相成的。 有的时候，文字本身的表述并不完整，需要对照图片来看。

《杰克灯的来历》

囡妈说把杰克灯直接翻译成南瓜灯，我的想法呢，是打个折衷，比如说：南瓜灯，也叫做杰克灯，或者，杰克灯，也就是南瓜灯。
Jack.O’.Lanterns  start as pumpkins , which  are grown from seeds.
They  create vines that lie on the ground  and bear pumpkins  which  grow big  and turn  from green  to  orange.

杰克灯是从种子长成的南瓜而来的。南瓜长出沿着地面生长的南瓜藤，南瓜藤负担着整个南瓜的重量，南瓜越长越大，由绿色变成橙色

这句话，如果我翻译，会是：杰克灯，也就是南瓜灯，当然得用南瓜做，南瓜又是由小种子长起来的。种子里伸出南瓜藤，铺在地面上，藤上又结出南瓜来，越长越大，由绿色变成桔黄色。（哈，我和囡妈一样，习惯说桔黄色。）

供你参考，因为是绘本，可能我翻的字太多，不及囡妈的简洁。

这里我也觉得说脸谱不太对劲，就是把南瓜刻成一张脸。

“露出一张笑脸”，我觉得不如说“笑嘻嘻”“笑眯眯”“笑呵呵”……之类的生动。
“被赋予了鲜活的生命”，我感觉这个表述好像有点太郑重？

无论什么时候，只要一有机会，他们就会加入到举行庆祝游行的队伍中去

“无论什么时候”感觉有点重复。
