哈哈,有点意思的小故事。
挑几个刺:
1)有些地方用词还可以丰富一些,多一些变化。
比如第一段里,原文是这么说的:
there lived two frogs, one of whom made his home in a ditch near the town of Osaka, on the sea coast, while the other dwelt in a clear little stream which ran through the city of Kioto.
原文用了不同的字眼来表示“居住”:“lived”“made his home in”和“ dwelt in”。 相比之下,译文的“住”就显得单调重复了一些。
2)The journey was more tiring than they expected, for they did not know much about travelling, and half way between the two towns there arose a mountain which had to be climbed.
旅途比它们想象的要艰难得多,因为它们并不十分了解,在两座城市之间,有一座山峰需要跨越。
tiring是不是更强调旅途的无聊乏味,而不是艰难?
not know much about travelling,我觉得是说它们没有多少旅行经验;
and half way。。。, 这里的and有递进的意思。
