柯林斯绘本请教：If You Give系列最新译稿切磋讨论

这个系列的书的特点就是体现了孩子那种想要这个、想要那个的心理，所以这个“要”字蛮重要的，孩子很直接，他的想法很简单，他就是会说“I want to...."，我个人是觉得中文应该翻出这种效果，虽然貌似文字相对会没有那么多变，但正是这种相对比较简单的重复，才会引发孩子的共鸣，而且也符合孩子的语言特点和心理。

另外，那个glitter，它还不是荧光粉，翻成彩色亮（闪）光粉，比较对。。它有很多颜色，在老鼠做好装饰挂件的那页画面上可以看到。

你们这次是打算做这个系列的几本啊？

哦，才两本啊，，我以为干脆都出了得了呢。。。

翻完，多大声读读吧。。因为这书都是需要家长读给孩子听的，所以是否好读，很重要。

只是一点个人意见啦，谈不上指点，，呵呵，你不用客气。。

《要是你给驼鹿吃松饼》If You Give A Moose A Muffin

要是你给驼鹿吃松饼，If you give a moose a muffin,
他会要点儿果酱跟松饼一块儿吃。he'll want some jam to go with it.

于是，你给他一点儿你妈妈自制的黑莓酱。So you'll bring out some of your mother's homemade blackberry jam.
他吃完一个松饼（或：一块松饼），When he's finished eating the muffin,
还要一个（块）。he'll want another.

再要一个（块）And another.

还（想）再要一个（块）。And another.
等到松饼吃光，When they're all gone,
他会求你再做一些。he'll ask you to make more.

你只好上店里买些做松饼的材料。You'll have to go to the store to get some muffin mix.
他也要跟你一起去。He'll want to go with you.

他一开门，When he opens the door and feels how chilly it is,
觉得外面太冷，he'll ask to borrow a sweater.
会问你借一件毛线衫穿穿。

他穿毛线衫的时候，When he puts the sweater on,
发觉一粒扣子松了。he'll notice one of the buttons is loose.

于是，他问你借针线。He'll ask for a needle and thread.
他动手缝。He'll start sewing.

这扣子让他想起他奶奶常做的布袋木偶。The button will remind him of the puppets his grandmother used to make.

于是，他问你讨些旧袜子。So he'll ask for some old socks.
他用袜子做布袋木偶。He'll make sock puppets.

布袋木偶做好了，他要演出木偶戏。When they're done, he'll want to put on a puppet show.
于是，他要纸板和颜料。He'll need some cardboard and paints.

他要你帮他画布景。Then he'll ask you to help make the scenery.

布景做好，他躲到长沙发后面，可是两只角却伸了出来。When the scenery is finished, he'll get behind the couch.
于是他求你给他点儿东西把角盖住。But his antlers will stick out.

你从床上给他抱来大被单。So he'll ask for something to cover them up.

一看到被单，他就想扮万圣节的鬼。You'll bring him a sheet from your bed.
他披上被单哇哇叫着。When he sees the sheet, he'll remember he wants to be ghost for Halloween.

“哇哇哇！”He'll try it on and shout, "BOO!"
他给自己吓得撞到颜料上去了。It'll scare him so much, he'll knock over the paints.

他只好用被单擦干净污渍。So he'll use the sheet to clean up the mess.
掉过头来，他求你给他块肥皂洗被单。Then he'll ask for some soap to wash it  out.

他要把被单拿出去晾干。He'll probably want to hang the sheet up to dry.

他出去把被单搭在晾衣绳上。
He'll go outside to put it on the clothesline.

在外面院子里，他看到你妈妈那些黑莓树。
When he's out in the yard, he'll see your mother's blackberry bushes.

看到黑莓，他就想起你妈妈的黑莓酱。Seeing the blackberries will remind him of her jam.
他会问你讨点儿黑莓酱。He'll probably ask you for some.

八九不离十，And chances are...

要是你给他黑莓酱，If you give him the jam,
他会要个（块）松饼配着吃。he'll want a muffin to go with it.

呵呵，读这个翻译，我都不禁乐了。。如果这是任老先生的翻译本，我只能再次摇摇头了哈~~

“他动手缝。He'll start sewing. ”这也叫翻译啊？

呵呵，真难为编辑大人了，我觉得这意见不好提，我说实实在在的话，这份翻译需要重新来过。

On the way home, he'll see a snowman in your neighbor's yard.
个人觉得最好译成“回家路上，看到邻家院内立着一个雪人。”
“回家”这个词有些模糊，原文的字面意思是回家途中
仅供参考

（或：然后，他后退几步，站在地上朝树上看。）Then he'll stand back to look at the tree.
后一种译法比前面的好，但是“站在地上”“朝树上看”这个放在这里有些别扭，因为上文并未提到她/他是否在装饰圣诞树的时候踩在板凳或梯子之类，所以“地上”和“朝树上看”这种明显带有一上一下方向性的词语放在这里就有些不妥帖。
因为原文未提及这些，可以把“站在地上”省去，采用与原文一样的写作手法，使译文模糊化“然后，他退后几步，仔细瞧这棵圣诞树”
这个个人的看法，不当之处，请见谅。

等到松饼吃光，When they're all gone,
我想说，松饼吃光，和吃光松饼应该不是一回事吧

虽然自己没有娃娃，但是看了这两本书，还是觉得缺少了与孩童相应的那份稚气，灵动与活泼。
总感觉语言，语气方面有待改善
